Instructions:

Thinking about the videos and readings on  spirituality, teamwork and collaboration, please post a reflection. The purpose of this assignment is for you to reflect on past experiences working on a team as well as new perspectives for effective teamwork and providing holistic care (including spirituality). Your reflection post should be approximately 2 paragraphs long regarding the following criteria:

  1. Give an example of a time, either at a job or here at school, when you were part of a team. Describe a challenge you faced while working with that team.
  2. Take into consideration the information you gained from the readings and video, coupled with your own growing knowledge on teamwork and collaboration. How would you now approach the challenge(s) you identified in question 1?
  3. From Nina Redl’s video presentation explain the significance of taking into consideration your patient’s spiritual needs. How you could tell a patient may be in spiritual distress?
  4. Following your post, read your peers’ posts and respond to one of your peers’ posts.

In your response to your peer, give suggestions (briefly, in a short paragraph) to help your peer understand the importance of inter-professional collaboration and teamwork, or new ways to identify spirituality and spiritual distress.

Your initial post (questions 1-3) is due Friday,  at midnight, your reply to your peer (question 4) is due Sunday, at midnight.

Step-By-Step Guide on Week 5 – Spirituality, Teamwork & Collaboration Reflection

Introduction

The ENG 101 Module 2 Discussion is designed to help you share your digital portfolio and introduce yourself to your classmates, instructor, and Writing Mentor. Sharing your portfolio and engaging in discussions will build a digital community, enhancing collaboration and support throughout the course. This How-To Guide will provide clear and concise instructions on effectively completing each part of the ENG 101 Module 2 Discussion.

Share Your Digital Portfolio

To start the ENG 101 Module 2 Discussion, we will share our digital portfolio on the Canvas Discussion Post.

Copy the link (URL) to your portfolio and paste it into your Canvas discussion post. Be sure to include clickable hyperlinks to an external site for your readers.

If you need help with your portfolio’s privacy settings, sharing your portfolio URL, or creating a clickable hyperlink, refer to the Writers’ Studio Portfolio Guide Links to an external site—resource, which has information on all those areas and more.

  • Copy and paste your portfolio link: Open your digital portfolio, copy the URL, and paste it into your Canvas discussion post.

  • Ensure a clickable hyperlink: Make the URL clickable for easy access by your readers. Highlight the URL in your post and use the hyperlink feature to create a clickable link.

  • Adjust privacy settings: Ensure your portfolio and embedded documents are public. Refer to the Writers’ Studio Portfolio Guide for detailed instructions on adjusting privacy settings and publishing your portfolio.

Compose a Brief Introduction Post

Next, we will compose a short introductory discussion post.  We will add a few details in the introduction post.

In your post, respond to the following prompts:

What communities are you a part of (digital or otherwise)? These may be related to where you live, what you study, your hobbies, or your profession.

Where are you taking this class from?

What technologies or social media sites do you use to connect with your communities?

What are your interests or hobbies?

What else do you want the class to know about you?

  • Identify your communities: Mention any communities you are part of, whether they are digital (e.g., social media groups) or physical (e.g., neighborhood groups, school clubs).

  • State your location for taking the class: Let your classmates know where you are geographically located while taking this course.

  • Mention technologies or social media used: List the technologies or platforms you use to stay connected with your communities.

  • Share your interests or hobbies: Briefly describe your interests or hobbies to give your peers a sense of who you are outside of the academic setting.

  • Add personal information: Share any relevant details you want your classmates to know about you.

Hello everyone,

I am Alex, and I am excited to be participating in this class. I am currently enrolled at Arizona State University.  I am part of several online communities on Facebook related to my interests and volunteer at a local food bank. To stay connected, I use Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. My hobbies include reading, hiking, and photography. I look forward to collaborating with all of you and learning new skills this semester.

Best,

Alex.

Peer Responses

Responding to peers is one of the vital parts of the ENG 101 discussion posts. We need to provide at least two peer responses. I will provide one example post. You can write your peer responses by keeping the below points in mind.

After you complete your initial post for this assignment, you will have time to read over your peers’ posts. Then, by the due date indicated in the course calendar, return to Canvas and respond to two of your peers following the 3CQ approach discussed in the link above.

  • Read your peers’ posts: Take time to read through the posts made by your classmates.

  • Respond to two peers using the 3CQ approach: Comment on at least two posts using the 3CQ method—Compliment, Comment, Connect, and Question. This method encourages thoughtful and constructive feedback.

Response 01

Hey Alex, great post! I found your introduction interesting. Your engagement in digital and physical communities is commendable, especially your volunteer work at the local food bank. Seeing how you use Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to stay connected is inspiring. Your hobbies, particularly photography, sound captivating, and I also share a love for hiking. I am excited to learn and collaborate with you this semester!

Response 02

As per the instructions, we are required to write two peer responses. I have addressed the given instructions in one response. Following these instructions, you can write your peer responses to Module 2 Discussion without a hassle. Remember, the 3CQ approach discussed in the link above is a helpful guide for your responses.

Closing

Following these steps, you’ll successfully share your digital portfolio and engage in meaningful peer interactions. This assignment helps you build a digital presence and fosters a supportive learning environment through collaborative feedback and shared experiences. Embrace this opportunity to connect with classmates and enhance your writing skills through digital communication.
