Overview and Purpose
Estimated Time: You should spend 2 hours to complete the self-assessment, prepare for the workshop, attend the workshop, and plan your next revision steps.
Revision workshops give you an opportunity to work collaboratively with your Writing Mentor to help understand and implement the feedback you have received and discuss additional revisions to your project.
It is highly recommended that you make some initial revisions based on your first round of feedback before submitting your draft for a workshop. However, you can also use these workshops to get help understanding and applying the feedback you received.
These workshops are held both synchronously over Zoom and asynchronously through written and audio/video/screencast feedback. Synchronous revision workshops may be recorded for quality control and training purposes.
Instructions
Complete the requirements in each step.
Step 1:
Review the feedback you received from your instructor and peers on your draft. Review the project assignment description and rubric.
Step 2:
Begin to revise your draft using the feedback you received as a guide.
Step 3:
Download and complete the self-assessment form
Step 4:
Sign up for your preferred workshop by attaching your self-assessment form and most recent revised draft.
Step 5:
Attend the Zoom workshop, or review the asynchronous feedback from your Writing Mentor.
Participation Guidelines
Please note that we always use Arizona time in the Writers’ Studio. Arizona does NOT participate in Daylight Savings Time.
Sign-ups operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
The first four students who post their form and draft to a time-slot thread will attend that workshop or receive asynchronous feedback.
Make sure to attach your draft and self-assessment worksheet at least 24 hours before your workshop time so that your Writing Mentor has time to prepare.

- Compare the feedback with the project requirements and rubric.
- Initial Revisions: Making some initial revisions before the workshop is recommended.
- Identify critical areas for improvement from the feedback.
- Implement changes to enhance your draft.

- Take notes and plan further revisions based on the discussion.
